The Campus Auxiliaries Communications and Marketing team manages strategic and operational communications and marketing for the units whose essential services keep IU Bloomington welcoming, running, and thriving.
We support the goals of IUB 2030, specifically Goal 3, Student Success and Opportunity, Access, Wellness, and Student Support: IUB will foster a student community that stimulates a strong sense of engagement and well-being among all students.
Our communications and marketing projects fall into six general categories:
- Content development is the broadest category and includes writing and editing, graphic design, social media, ads, marketing campaigns, PowerPoints, reports, among other items.
- Event coverage includes photo, video, and social media. Often, assets collected from events are used on websites, on social media, and in print or digital ads.
- Salesforce is a powerful tool for reaching targeted audiences with precision. Salesforce email and newsletter sends provide detailed information on click-through rates that help guide future content creation.
- Website work includes creation, maintenance, and updates to existing web sites.
- FireForms are used for RSVPs, contests, registrations, newsletter subscriptions, and more. Fireforms require Duo authentication, which auto-populates the submitter’s university information.
- Merchandise orders include apparel and “swag” items including stickers, notebooks, flags, outdoor signage, vinyl clings, and more.
- Special projects are those that fall outside the above categories. These include focus groups, strategic communications planning, and one-off creative projects (such as creation of mascots for each dining hall).
